Calvary Church
PODCAST AND FEEDS
What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is simply a method of delivering and/or receiving fresh audio content in mp3 format from web sites that offer audio content. Users install a Podcast client program on their local computer and then subscribe to Podcast ‘feeds’ found at web sites offering audio content. The Podcast client checks the feeds on a regular basis for new content, and when new content is made available it is downloaded to the user’s computer automatically. Think Tivo for audio content. For example, a user who subscribes to one of the Calvary Church Podcast feeds will automatically receive our content (sermons, songs, classes, audio specials) delivered to their Podcast client whenever we post new audio content. How do I use iTunes with the Calvary Church podcast?
Before you begin, make sure you have iTunes 4.9 or later. Any previous version will NOT work. You can download the newest version from apple.com. From the iTunes program, locate the Podcasts item in the Source menu and click it. At the bottom, you’ll see Podcast Directory. Click here, and it will take you to the Podcasts page on the iTunes music store. On the right side at the top is a search box. Type in Calvary Church, or similar. You should find multiple results for various Calvary Church related feeds. From here all you have to do is click Subscribe. The program will automatically download the latest audio, and you can listen to or download more audio from the Podcasts menu in iTunes.
